I would walk just becasue of that. The price is already to high and they sound like players. They will play everyone against one another. I would "encourage" them to put it on ebay.. Give them a reality shot in the arm.

No photos, no news... along other lines, someone yesterday offered me a 95 GTS with 0 miles that was stored right after production and had the drivetrain removed.... pretty neat. I did get 15 photos of it. They say 4000DM for it.... in europe. Who knows if it's serious. I asked for more info.... it's interesting.

Sure. Checks in the mail, and I won't come in your mouth. I have to leave this thread, my BS-ometer is pegged.

The euro car is not a fair comparo, mostly because the costs will double in the year or so it will take you to get it here, get US certs done on it and get it titled and registered.
A real genuine low-miles car is cool as a collectable --IF-- it's a collectable car to start with. As Chuck points out, there is not much rarity in the '85/'86 right now. There's a couple months of spare-time work in it just getting it cleaned up to 'collector' clean, several $thousand just in new rubber bits to make it reliable enough to drive or to correctly store it. Are you planning on driving it? The 'value' placed on extreme low-mile examples dissipates pretty rapidly as the odometer whirls. Plus all that cleaning is for naught after the first big mud puddle. Then there's the relative value to you. Assuming that you have $30k sitting around, is this where you want to put it? Knowing that you'll drop another $5-10k in it to bring it to 'collectable' condition. It this something you are considering as an investment? If so, do all your due-diligence now and discover that these cars suck on a purely financial basis. Chuck will tell you about the Kermit car and the dollars in vs the dollars recovered, about the time spent getting an original-condition car up to original condition again. About gathering all the documentation to back up the original uber-low miles claim, packaging it all to make a saleable package, and finding that discerning buyer, one in a million, who is ready to reward all that investment. I'll tell you about my very low-miled car that I've driven 75k, over a dozen years now. I bought it well at the time, but added a lot of time and $$ just keeping it in nice driving condition. I could sell it today for what I payed for it, but nowhere close to what I have in it. Good investment, but only relative to what other cars might have cost under the same conditions and use, and only because of the smile multiplier on the value side of the calculation. So, gonna drive it and dilute the perceived 'low miles' value, or park it in a climate-controlled museum garage? Hope for the right buyer sometime in the future to reward your foresight, maybe hope to fund the first semester of the new child's college education? My crystal ball says you'll do better stuffing money in a mattress. Of course you can't go out and drive the money-stuffed mattress.

no news on it. Middle men make things impossible. I have to admit , when at first I heard of the low mile car, I was very interested. Commentary here is sobering. I appreciate the insights of those with more experience, VERY helpful, and I thank you kindly.

Ok, found it. Looks like it's just the shell. Can't see very well but looks like the interior is also stripped.

Isn't that paint one of the commemorative colors or something? I think I saw it in a museum somewhere.
