Over labor day weekend, a friend and I drove my 928 to Katherine which is about 1200 km (750 mi) North of here. We saw some great scenery, and found the car to be very comfortable for long drives. We stopped at a place called Devils Marbles. So named because of all of the large boulders strewn about the desert. The photo is from there. On the way back we found a lonely stretch of smooth road to see how fast we could get it going. It maxed out at 262 km/hr at around 5000 rpm. If the speedometer was correct that was around 164 mph. The scariest part was catching up to car towing a trailer and realizing how fast our closing speed was since we were going more than twice as fast as them. Before I get flamed, I normally do not drive like that and don't have plans to do it again.
