Thanks, John. I finally got the WSMs and it looks like it's pins 22, 9, 7, and 6. You can double check if you want, though. My car is an '89.

Got the last thing I was waiting on in the mail today. Probably next week I'll start taking the turbo out and replacing some stuff.

I got to meet Aaron and his wife and see John and Doug again this past weekend while I was back in VA. I finally got to see the fabled Martini car and cassius red metallic cab in person--both very nice.

I've got a plan for that, which is why I had him make it with no mounting tab. Remember, my car doesn't have AC. Just some food for thought.

Mine was $85 shipped, even with a couple custom options. Turnaround time was like 10 days. I definitely need it as I found some oil collecting in the bottom of the coupler on the compressor inlet.

Update: The AOS heatshield has been modified to clear the downpipe, I've finished rewiring the MAF, and the catch can is mounted. I have pictures of all this stuff, but it's not really that interesting. Now I'm working on the water fittings for the turbo and pretty much ready to say 'fuck it' and run the thing dry.

I'm trying to reconfigure the water outlet similar to Pauly's so I can run a normal temp sensor(since my low profile is broken) and still clear the intake manifold front support. I ordered a 3/8" NPT to -8AN fitting for the turbo, -8AN to -8AN 90* elbow, and a 14mm to -8AN for the temp sensor housing(which I have cut at the base so there is no banjo fitting). I tried to install the 3/8" NPT to my Vitesse stage 2 turbo and I could only get it to turn one rotation. I retapped the female threads in the turbo and retried with the same results. I called Summit and told them there must be a problem with the fitting and had them send me a new one from a different manufacturer(Aeroquip). I've tried the new fitting with the same results. I could probably muscle the thing on, but I don't want to mess up a turbo over a $3 fitting.

If I were to run my turbo dry, would I just plug the water inlet/outlet, or leave it open? If I were to plumb the coolant to the turbo, but leave off the temp sensor housing and temp sensor, would that just mean the turbo water pump would always be running? Is the temp sensor used for anything else? TIA

I drove my car a little bit tonight and it is a friggin beast. It is more responsive and not as rich. I credit both to the freshly cleaned grounds. I also got all the heat shields back in, fixed my MAF wiring, and used -AN fittings to plumb water to the turbo just as Pauly did in his project thread.

Next on the list is wiring in the SMT-6 and LC-1 and tune the thing.

Post pictures!

I like where you've installed the catch can

If it's a DBB turbo i hope you're not running it dry, there will be no cooling for it! the oil restrictor restricts the oil to a small amount only to get the bearings lubricated

I have a Vitesse turbo, so no DBB, but I've got it water cooled anyway. I'd much rather shut off the engine and leave the car in gear in the paddock than sit in the car with my foot on the brake or set the e-brake. I prefer chocking the wheels over both of these options, but that's not always possible. Anyway, I've got some options there since I kept the turbo water cooled.

"Bolting on" this turbo has been enough of a project for me, I don't think I have the patients to put a true t4 dbb turbo on one of these cars.

I'll post more pictures up when I get home from work.
