leaky rear shock?
99/996 NA 6speeds
One of my rear shocks/struts is wet on the smaller tube and it doesnt dry so i assume it is oil. Will they leak oil? Should I plan to replace soon?

Kyle,
I am thinking of doing a RoW MO30 to my car.... Maybe we should start a group buy?

New suspension that lowers the car a little and tightens it up without killing the ride quality... Apparently comparable to Bilstein PSS9 or PSS10 shocks for less money. Like doing an MO30 on a 944 (did 928s have the MO30 option)?

Fergus, what's something like that cost, and are there any issues with putting it on a C4? I believe Rob in WA has it done, so it must work OK.
Kyle, I would guess that you're right about the shock. I haven't seen anything like that on mine.

RoW stands for Rest of World. M030 means sport in Porsche speak. There is also a U.S. version, not as aggressive. It changes the car dramatically - the way it should be. There are different versions, C2, C4, Coupe, Cab, etc. so be sure to specify. I got mine from Carnewal: http://www.carnewal-europe.com/main.htm
However w/the current exchange rates Suncoast or Sunset might have a better price. I paid ~$1k for the parts and ~ another $1k for installation and alignment. Here's some before and after shots: Here's Porsche's alignment specs: |

Jake,
I have heard it costs about USD1K and Rob seems to confirm it. I was going to do the labour myself, except for the alignment. So say $1400 all in....

Sorry not in my pocketbook right now, 18K buying the car, another 1K on brakes and rotors, another 1200 on IMS and clutch and RMS, and now I just ruined a rear tire last night so another 800 on rubber and alignment... Im spent for at least 6 months.

You could get the 928 sold--that would cover most of the bill for the tires, I would think.

I'm trying to keep it. Just bought some cheapo tires from TR to get me through this season while I lick my wounds.
