Engine Undertray, On Or Off? And Why?
I'm trying to decide whether I should keep my undertray on or off. What are the pros and cons to it? Help a n00b please!

Well, mine is off, too many broken attach points after 180K miles. Worth at least another 10 HP!

I prefer "Commando" on the undertray. Makes my parts feel free and clear and keeps my crank cool. Just sayin'.

Damn,
Gotta love the man who can speak in a public forum about his crank and parts... Seems to me the fundamental question is the comparative value of: 1) allowing your crank to function in a very hot and moist environment or, 2) not. As usual, YMMV... Dave |

There you go, starting trouble Ilko. Now let's talk about something else. Anyone know anything about which suspension upgrade is the best?

I think it is only acceptable to leave it off if you have factory rolled fenders & a seam welded chassis. Otherwise, it will adversely affect your aero

Mine is the only RSA with factory rolled fenders and seam welded chassis...and the factory never put an under tray on, of course.

Does taking the undertray off affect the handling? I have heard that having it on it helps produce "ground effect" and as such, if you remove it should you always drive with the rear spoiler up to keep the car properly balanced?

You are possibly absolutely correct, I think. Unless you are exiting T4 at Mosport backwards at a high rate of speed, in which case you are incorrect.
