Default My crazy neighbor damaged the Cayenne

He hit the rear driver door with a shovel. I havent taken it to a body shop for an estimate yet.
My question is how does one calculate diminished value ?
I know any paint work on a Porsche will greatly affect its value, but who determines this and how?
The DA wants to know if its over $500.

Not that I think you don't deserve it, but I doubt you'll get very far with a diminished value claim for the repainting of a single door, even on a Porsche.

He attacked my wife(he really is a nut) . In the process he hit the side of her Cayenne with the shovel he was swinging around.
He went to jail and is now facing felony charges.
The DA told me that if the damage to the vehicle are oveer $500 it will be a second felony.

I'd tell the DA its over $500. Tell him Divot said he would pay $750 more if it didn't have that door repair job. Throw this nutjob in jail.

I had a crazy neighbor, and wish I pressed charges with his first issue.

Holy crap, indeed! That's horrible, slider--hope your wife is OK.

As for the perp, screw him. I had a relatively minor scratch on the front of my 996 from some idiot hitting it--smaller than a postage stamp--and the Porsche dealer quoted me $600 to remove the cover, sand it, repaint it, and reinstall it. If the damage on your Cayenne is worse than a small scratch, it'll be over $500.

Good luck.

How did you restrain yourself from shooting him? Man, I'd go nuts. Over the wife 1st, car 2nd.

In this case I wouldn't feel very much obliged to look for a quote under $500.

Georgia is a shall issue state.????
He got lucky . We had just taken the pepper in for new coils and my wife removed her gun and had not put it back in the truck. My 1st thought was gun when I realized we were in danger. I then proceeded to handle it the other way. That is until his father came(about 10 seconds) swinging a shovel trying to take my head off.
This was all a very ugly afair.
My wife is fine shes a bit bruised up as am I . My 4 yr old son is a bit freaked out(to say the least). We are going to have a couselor help us with him. I'm not big on couselors, but I dont know how to handle this one myself.

Don't feel the least bit bad about the counselor for your young son...this seems like a textbook situation for one. You've got to take care of your family the best way you know how. Not that I think it will necessarily stop anything, but are you looking into a restraining order against these nut cases?

Conditions of bond included no contact with any of my family, and he is only allowed to leave his house to go to church or medical appointments. He's not even allowed in his yard to walk his dog.Groceries must be delivered.
