With the new tensioner pad in place I've started cleaning half the block in order to get it ready for the installation of the crank carrier. Took the block half to a local car was and power washed all the internal passages, then covered the block with WD40 to drive way the moisture and then a few days later started cleaning it in more detail. After this, I've realized that the connecting rods that Iv'e installed 4 years ago were on the wrong side of the crank carrier. So off they came and were re installed and re oriented on the opposite side. Going to torque them down in the next couple of days. Then the plan is to install the pistons on them and then lower the empty part of the crank carrier into the block half.

Borrowed a nice Snap-On torque wrench from a buddy and torqued the 4,5,6 con rods to 45ft/lbs. The new bolts are ARP units and the torque spec was their recommendation. Next is to lower the crank cradle into the engine block.

I think I will end this thread since this website deleted all but the last page of pictures. I don't see a reason to keep putting content in here only to go missing. I have better things to do that waste my time for nothing. Too bad, was hoping it would help others in the future. This site needs to get it's $hit together.

P.R. As a closing for this thread, the short block is now assembled and ready to have the heads and everything else installed.

I can't post pictures on Rennlist, reached my limit a long time ago as a no member and I'm not going to pay for a membership (did it once in the past) to post pictures.
