Would be nice to move this to a seperate thread on standalone systems.

Ok back on point. Vic with your system as it's currently configured, I can have two maps and switch back and forth, got that. I plan on running E-85 and from what I understand the main benefit of E-85 comes from running more timming.

Now "assume " I'am a dumbass, so I tune a base map for E-85 and just add 6 degree's timing across the board. Do a data run look at the log and if the setup is not pulling timing I can keep adding a degree of timing until I see the system start to pull out timing?

Some interesting info on self-tuning EMS here. It would be great to see how the interface works, as I think the ease of use matters as much as the performance of an EMS - Vic, could you post more screenshots of the Vi-PEC interface?

How does the J&S know in which cylinder knock is appearing?

I'm going to start a new thread and answer your questions there.

I think it's really important that the breakdown of the input & output channels is understood cause it'll help guys recognize which ECU they need for the options they want.
Vic,

To clear up a few things. If the stock 944 Triggering is used the system will be Group fuelled as there is no Cam sync. Therefore the 4 Injectors drives can be used as 2 for Fuel (grouped) and the other 2 as Aux channels. Same goes for the 4 Ignition drives. 1 or 2 are required (Distributor or WS) and the other 2 as Aux drives. Also the Atom has 3 virtual Aux outputs. Any one of these can be used for logging etc.

If sequential fuelling is required, then use the Storm if you need more channels.

Link has been doing this for along time... but again, if your concerned about running out of options, you can step up to a Storm or an Extreme. Both do the same thing your unit does. The Link can do the exact same, knock protection, it can pull timing, etc... its all the same.

You're absolutely right Dave - I apologize for not mentioning or explaining that my comments on the Atom were made from a full sequential perspective.

How many inputs?
Can you tune her 'Knock' response?
Is she tapped for an EGT probe?
Batch fire or Sequential?
Will she handle rotary as well as reciprocating units?
Is she tuned for aggressive advance? (and then gets retarded with too much boost?)
What’s her dataLoging capacity?
Traction control or does she just burn rubber?

Ok….phew, I feel better now….

Can you tune her 'Knock' response?
Yes. Simply adjust the Tequila to lime juice ratios.

Is she tapped for an EGT probe?
Yes, bunghole is OEM.

Batch fire or Sequential?
This depends on your tuning experience.

Will she handle rotary as well as reciprocating units?
Yes and in some instances both simultaenously.

Is she tuned for aggressive advance? (and then gets retarded with too much boost?)
Depends on the mixture. 100 proof (or better 151, 180p) she runs great with no problems. Although multiple runs at this level could result in a blown head.
What’s her dataLoging capacity?
None. Never remembers the last run.

Traction control or does she just burn rubber?
Comes equipped with 50/50 LSD (Legs Straddling Dude) which is very effective.

Ok….phew, I feel better now….
Hope this clears up your questions
