Default Power Backrest

I have an 85 911 Carrera which has power seats. What isn't working is the switch to move the power backrest to an upright position. It goes down but not up. The backrest is currently all the way down making it virtually impossible to drive the car. Is there a way to manually get the back rest to an upright postion? Any suggestions on what my first approach should be to fix the problem.

Thanks

If the switch is oxidized on one side to the point where it won't make contact you can clean the contacts; possibly I'd try swapping the wires so "down" is up".

Can you replace the switch?

My 84's are all manual so I really have no experience with 911 power seats. I have swapped motor electrics in other seats however... can be a pain depending on the seat.

Good luck!
