Default Three words.

Proper.
Paddle.
Shifters.

That is all.

I still prefer 3 pedals on the floor.

Hmmm, I sort of agree, but have you actually driven a "real" paddle shift car? I had the pleasure of driving the Ferrari F430 Scuderia in Carmel last weekend & it was f*@king amazing. No human can shift this fast (14 year old pubescents included).

Two weeks prior I was with a friend testing a double clutch BMW M3 - and it was also seriously good... The 2010 turbo has a "paddle" option instead of the steering wheel buttons & I'm hoping that these will finally crush the tiptronic ghosts...

To each their own. No best solution, except maybe a real sequential shifter (not like the RSR).

Honestly I could give two poops about it. People seem to have acclimated to the current design.

I prefer a Manual Transmission any day of the week.
