Default RL.com WTF????????????

i wish there was more activity on this site, cause IB really really sucks.
Here, only the 928 forum seems to get much traffic.

More power to reutterwerk.com

I was beginning to think it was just me...RL has been down quite a while...Their hamster must've sprained his ankle or just took the day off.

I agree. Maybe the outage will cause a momentum shift, I hope so.

It's not just rennlist, it's all (or most) of IB's sites, partial list here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Brands

IMHO, given the scope of the company there is really is no possible excuse for such an outage. They should have high-availability solutions for the systems/networks that comprise the production environment. Really with a "disaster" such as this they should just failover the whole works to a secondary site by putting their disaster recovery plan in effect, assuming they have one.

And they said it was going to be down on Friday at 1:00pm EST for 90 minutes for maintenance. 30 hours later and many of their sites are still down. Great Job IB!

Default Never happened on John D's watch

The Rennlist site is really FUBAR at this point.

When John D ran the site out of his own pocket and just he and Jenn doing the work it was far more reliable.

IB has no excuse at this point...they have been off the air for more than a day.

Geesh

This isn't the first time they've had an "ownage". Unless things really start improving, I seriously doubt I'll re-up as a paying member.

I've been doing some reading...

Model Mahem, who is the hosting company for IB, is on its third day of outage due to DNS Denial of Service attacks.

More info here:
http://blog.patyuen.com/2009/11/14/w...latest-outage/

However, on their Twitter page, they claim that they've been up since 3:00am this morning, yet IB is not up yet.

Check Model Mahem Twitter Page for updates on the outage:

They just came back on-line with abject apologies for the outage. Funny how they scheduled a 90 min. downtime for "maintenance" at the same time they get attacked which took them out for 2 days.

I think alot of us will now migrate to RuWks fulltime. I've been a member for a while, but only stuck my head in every now and then.

I think that if we all get the word out we can bring a lot of people to this site, which I have been very impressed with, in regard to speed of loading and quality of material here.

I know I will be spending more time here. I am sure that if RL continues down the same path that others will join too.

Let me know if I can ever be of any assistance to anyone here, if you get around the forums much you will probably already know who I am. LOL

Warmest Regards,

In the IT world the greatest cause of unplanned outage is planned outage.

If the volume was here I would be too.
