Talking Pauly's go quicker project. (First start video...)

Phase two click here

Phase one

Ever since the start of the year sometime my turbo let go (we think) i pulled apart the exhaust, Xover, took the turbo out and everything and how i have a car with no boost. So i decided in upgrading parts (while you're there type of thing) and made some orders. I ordered TiAL Vband kit, Vband kit for the exhaust, oil lines, adapters, 750cc injectors, and other small pieces. The turbo i ordered is a GTX3076R/TiAL .63 now a TiAL .82 hot housing. But it'll be here in 3-4 weeks

So here's some pictures to start off.

Oil line is already on the car. couldn't wait to start bolting parts on.

750cc injectors with 1ohm resistors.

Today i installed the ballast resistors and properly installed my LM-2

Ballast resistors and heat sink. i read somewhere that they do get hot so i found some heat sink that i thought could do the job

eBoost2 on it's way!
It's a 60mm black/black 40psi version

I've stated cutting up the exhaust, but it started to rain, no welding done yet!

AHHHHHH!!!

I see electrical tape!

Please go back, and swap the tape for either mastic tape or heat shrink... please??

Otherwise looking good!

Looking good

I know what you mean when you say rat nest. Esp w/ all the control box's. Plus you will probably have more to add in the future.

For easy acess to everything, I placed a cut out of MDF the shape of the floor and placed some carpet under it to keep it cushioned and from moving. (all I had around the house, will place rubber later, maybe),

I velcroed the componets down to the PDF w/ industrial velcro. Also, cut the metal floor board reatainer to clear the computers and make it easier to take in and out, but cutting the angle in the corner. I wanted to keep the foot rest, to protect the wiring from somones big feet on the track.

Also I placed some spacers and longer bolts on the lower retainer to help w/ clearance.

You can check out a pic on post 26 of this thread, I don't have the image saved any more.

Steve
Thanks

I see what you mean by the picture, not to bad idea.

In the near future, i'll probably get rid of everything there and go with a full ems. probably go Vi-Pec and a J&N knock control, That'll get rid of the link interceptor and the heat sink for the resistors. But ill end up adding a innovate LMA-3 to data log more sensors.

There's an alarm there also... that i installed, but it'z zip tied up inthere somewhere. but the bunch of wires interfiere with the steel arm that goes to the top right bolt. i may just cut it off to make room. (the reason i installed the alarm was for central locking and some sort of immobiliser. the siren is installed but took the fuse out)

Ohh, I thought that was an EMS, so you have to go back w/ the DME and KLR. Not that it is that bad, just a PITA to me to orientate the harness.

Yes it will get hot enough to bake the electrical tape off (loosen the adhesive) and then you end up with a bigger mess...

Electrical tape has a place... in the store... electrical harnesses dont need electrical tape.. heat shrink, harness tape, or mastic tape... in that order..

Not that wrapping with electrical tape is WRONG, at least you did something.. I would much rather deal with a bunch of electrical tape than nothing, but if building it clean, a little extra can ensure it stays clean in the long term!

Just a suggestion, but I chose to use thermal paste between my resistors and the mounting plate. It helped with keeping them cool and is cheap and available at pretty much any computer shop.

Does your EMS require the resistors? Your sig says AFMlink and I am not familiar with it.

Engine bay looks nice and neat! Why does your intake pipe drop in diameter for a bit before the turbo?
