Default Help Debugging KLR

My 951S KLR box appears to be dead. Car would not start without jumpering it out of the circuit (jump pins 9 and 16 of the KLR plug to pass signal back to DME).

Car only has 27k miles and doesn't go out in moisture, so the KLR box looks to be in great shape.

Does anyone know what typically goes wrong with these? I'm thinking maybe a capacitor aged to the point were it opened or shorted.

Does anyone know where to find a schematic for the KLR box?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Find someone local who can spare one. Not to plug in, (obviously that'll work) but to swap KLR chip. I some how fried the chip in mine KLR. But i just replaced the whole KLR.

If not just replace the whole thing and be done with it.

carlege - thank you for that nice offer. With electronics, I'd be afraid I might damage it. I think I'll try tracing some circuitry and see if that leads to anything obvious on the boards. Then if no luck, I'll end up buying a new one.

I think swaping the chip is a good idea Paulyy. I have the original factory one as well as the installed Autothority one. Swapping back might show something. Worth a try anyway.

Thanks guys!
