Do you recommend the Tru-Lift? I can't always get to the turntable as soon as it reaches the end of the album and it doesn't seem like a good idea to let the needle ride for a couple of minutes in the runout.

Only thing I'm not very happy about is the automatic tonearm lifter actually sits on the stand and pokes up through one of the holes in the plinth. Maybe it's better that way.

Vinyl has gotten ridiculously expensive around here. I wanted New Order Substance and expected it to be pricey, but an average copy is over $200, sealed is over $400. It's that way for a lot of vintage vinyl. I'm hoping it's temporary because of the holidays and will go back down soon. Still zero luck at the thrift stores. Less than pleased with a lot of rereleases.

I have been avoiding buying vinyl of albums I already own on CD. I've been waiting to bring them back from IL to listen to them first.

There are a few things I want that I refuse to pay asking prices so I either wait for thrift shop bargain, a decent reissue (I’ve had some killer ones lately) or digital

Preamp came in and it isn't what I ordered. They sent the old version that looks like it's been sent back a couple of times already. Not very happy, but we'll see how it goes with getting it exchanged.

My older brother is looking at turntables. I think he's looking at the P6, not sure what cartridge.

Not good unless perhaps they give you a smoking deal on the older model

Dropped it off at FedEx a little while ago. It looked like it had been opened several times or maybe it was a demo and ended up back on the shelf. It would have had to be an unheard of deal for me to keep it, but they didn't offer and I didn't ask.

I found a few reviews that said the MM preamp in the Japanese built Denons are pretty good and I was about to send the Mk3 back. I wasn't that impressed with the Mk1, so I almost didn't bother setting up the Mk3. The male-to-male adapters for the new cable arrived last night and I was about to get everything connected when I thought I'd try the Mk3 anyway. Glad I did! My media room is barely navigable right now with all the rewiring I've been doing, but I sat in that mess for nearly 3 hours last night playing familiar albums that now seem new again. I think I'll be stopping by the record store this morning. I don't think for a minute that my setup is very good, but this has brought a new dimension to what I have that I didn't think was possible.

Mono recordings have improved, but they still seem...flat. Might be my ears, the recording or wear on the albums. I don't have a lot of mono vinyl, so I'm not going to worry about it that much. I will run them through the cleaner again before their next play.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I did try the adapters and the receiver's built-in preamp for side-by-side comparison and there was a noticeable difference. The adapters I bought are made in Taiwan AudioQuest RCA couplers. There may be better ones out there, but I couldn't find them.

Spent an hour in the record store and ended up with 5 albums. Nothing too exciting but its fun to thumb through the just arrived bins. One new album, 4 "previously enjoyed". The new one is New Order - Power, Corruption & Lies.

Finding some interesting results from minor changes to the point that I don't believe it myself. I had bought AudioQuest 90° RCA adapters so I could get the preamp closer to the wall. With them installed, a lot of fidelity was lost. Continuity tests showed they were good electrically, so I gave them a squirt of Deoxit. Reinstall them, and it sounds like crap again. Run test signals with and without them and nothing looks out of the ordinary. For the life of me I cannot figure out why it sounds different with them installed. I don't really have the capability of doing double-blind testing, so they're staying out and are being returned.

Next find was connecting the turntable and preamp to the same power strip. Again, it sounds different and I believe this even less than I do the 90° RCA adapters. Not showing a voltage drop under load and the sockets showed fine with a polarity/ground tester. Unplug one or the other and it was fine. Gave up fairly quickly with this one out of frustration and ran 2 separate power cables to the power conditioner, which is what the power strip was plugged into. Power strip was just a power strip - no surge or filtering, made by APC for mounting vertically in a server rack.

Just got around to ordering one today. Ordered it with the Tonar Tacky-Cleaner too. I already lost track of how many hours I have on the current cartridge, so I figured I needed this.
