Back on topic, while at my local P dealer today for some service I learned they have 2 new 2008 cars still available. One is a Cayman and the other is a C4S. I think both are Carrara White and I know the C4S is red interior with black carpets - sharp. It also has white wheels about which I am less enthusiastic. MSRP $109k current ask $85k. I suspect the Cayman has a nice discount available as well.

We have a 2008 997S tip Cab in white on beige/black 72 miles on it. MSRP was $108k, asking $79k now. 4 2009 cabs left and one coupe.

GT3 and pretty much any 2011 997 product is DONE for production. 'maybe' 1 or 2 allocations for GT3's but I highly doubt it. I'll do a search....

But you cannot order any normal 997 product. That 'ship' has left. LOL

Stoppie what figures do you have on 2010 997's and 997TT's for production this year? Seems like cars bought this year will be a collectors item in some respects due to low production numbers.

Last September, I tried to order a C4 coupe. In December, my salesperson informed me that there were no allocations for C4 or C4S cars (coupe or cabs.) I was able to find an existing allocation, i.e., one that was assigned to another dealer for a C4S which was modifiable. I took it and got my new car last month.

The C4 has apparently never been a popular model. And Porsche seems to have tried to force customers to buy from existing inventory as early as last year by restricting allocations.

For those unfamiliar with Porsche's arcane ordering system, dealers cannot order cars without an allocation (authorization to order a particular model) from the company. These allocations seem to be released to dealers based on past sales and the needs and convenience of the factory. I'm sure that there's much more to it but this is a rough outline of what I learned -- obviously from the customer's perspective. If someone knows more or can provide more details, please fill in the gaps.
