Default Dyno!

Finally made it to the dyno. Waqqas went without me! I can't blame him, he was at a meet and he was pressured. Oh well.

Graph is weird, though. No torque curve and x-axis is speed not RPM. Either way. It was on a Mustang dyno, so if it were on a DynoJet it would have seen well over 500 whp.

Car made 480 whp. Torque wasn't on there but I think Waqqas told me it was just under 450 wtq. All that was done on a stock, tired 2.5 liter bottom end.

The car:

E85 @ 22 psi

Stock bottom end 2.5 liter
Stock head/headers/crossover
Link Standalone EMS with aggressive tune; wasted spark, batch injection
Link Knockblock
160 lbs injectors, 044 pump
Millege Camshaft
Accufab throttle body with modified intake
custom intercooler/piping/4 inch intake
GT3082R with Tial billet engine mount
Tial 38
3 inch exhaust with 3 inch dp
CEP fuel rail, engine mounts, distributor cap delete, and other misc bits
stock head gasket/studs

And a bunch of other junk that doesn't really matter.

That was only at 22 psi. Waqqas has since driven the car at 25 psi. It pulls SO hard. I had a 996 GT2 here a month ago, it felt slow in comparison to Waqqas's car.

Now for next season, however, Waqqas wants to convert to LSX engine. All of this will be for sale at some point. Please don't email me yet, it may be a couple weeks.

Here is the chart and a few engine shots:

Great dyno. Bet it feels strong! How are you triggering the Link -- stock flywheel?

60-2 Clewett setup up front. I couldn't get the factory triggers to work. However, I didn't try adjusting the ignition dwell like Vic did. That may fix it. The 60-2 is super stout, though. I'd never go back.

Thanks!

Holy F*ck that's a lot of power for stock bottom end!

Couple of Q's..
what rpm is redline?
& When do you see full boost?

as i've got a similar turbo (i think the power output of mine is more?)

Congrats. Nice linear curve. So now off to the dragstrip to get the real whp.

i thought #2 bottom end bearing suffers from oil starvation? reving at 7k rpm, wouldn't it just kill the bearings and the whole bottom end?

Should be ok on a dyno and with the right oil.

Awesome results Derek! Congrats to you on an awesome build.

That intercooler setup is simply sick - do you weld up those end tanks or is that how it is sold? Did you opt for a "off the shelf" Millege cam (CS-16 or 8SR/S3-16) or did you have one made specifically?

I just ordered an 044 pump today, so I'm certain that I won't be hitting 100% duty cycle any more!

It looks like he ordered a core (Bell?) and fabbed the endtanks with sheet metal. If you order from Bell make sure you request the "high density core/fins".

Not quite as good but a respectable alternative would be a core and /or cast endtanks from here www.treadstoneperformance.com
