Nice work, beautiful car.
I made a mistake on the inlet size of the intake. I just talked with Garrity, the builder of the intake, and it's 4" with 2" and a 2.5" extensions for the additional filters.

Amazing work George! If you are ever in the Mesa area, I'd jump on the opportunity to meet up and take a look at your masterpiece. I'd really like to get your impression of how my car drives - it makes a little more power than your previous K27 equipped car, but is fit with a very quick spooling GT30R and a cool standalone system.

Good luck with your project!

You should join our annual sports car run to Greer, AZ. www.antlerridge.com We get guys from LA, San Diego, Phoenix, Tucson, etc. We usually get around 10 or so really neat cars. This usually happens late April. When I get the car back, I'll bring it to Phoenix when I see clients. We can hook up at your shop.

Looks great as usual George!
I'm sure it will be a blast to drive with a great powerband. I would keep boost below 18 psi and enjoy it. Even without detonation or heat issues there's a lot of potential problems with high power.

My 16v engine has 9.5:1 compression. At 1 bar of boost it spins my 295 R888 in 3rd gear before they're at high (track) temps.

Duke, how is your car running? Didn't you have a HG failure earlier with this motor? We plan on keeping the car around 18psi or less. We are using TEC running full sequential and new Bosche 100LB injectors. We are at around 8.3 compression running a 2.7 NA ported polished head using stock turbo exhaust valves. I'm hoping to have a dyno like yours!!!!!

Thanks,

George

The HG didn't fail per se, but it didn't seal properly around cyl 4. That was with a Cometic gasket and I was still running a low 0.6 bar.
I replaced it with a stock 968 gasket and it has been holding up since, including the dyno runs. This engine will go into my new race car in the future along with dry sump, 4-1 headers, electrical p/s etc. so I expect to gain a decent amount of power at the same boost level. The only drawback will be a more restrictive exahust on the racer due to space limitations.

Looking forward to your dyno!

George this should yield a very driveable result. Totally unique build. Can't wait to see and hear some video.

That's great news George. I found the vents definitely work in heat extraction.
Good luck today!!

Any shots of the underside of the hood? I would like to eventually do those same vents on my car also. Just need to finally break down and respray the entire thing so its all done in one shot.

The underside of my hood has been cleaned, paint touched up and buffed out since this picture. You will also notice that we reinforced the back side of the hood vents. They were pretty flimsy when we first took them out of the box. They would have been fine, as plenty of folks are running these as manufactured.

Thanks for the pic. I am hoping to install them around the under hood lining on mine aswell. Normally i would just take it off but one of the previous owners of my car put a new one on and its in great shape..and the last thing i want to do is spend hours getting all the old glue off!
