This weekend's work:
Polishing and wax.
About 8 hours polishing with the PC, followed by a coat of Zymol Glasur wax. Not exactly pro-quality, as the bonnet is still riddled with swirls, but a lot better than it was, and saved me £400 doing it myself rather than paying a pro. Having said that, my back and knees now feel like I am 80, so may well pay next time!! Did not take any before or during photos, but here are a few after shots (ignore the lack of tyre blacking, that will have to wait for next time as I was too tired to do any more!!) Reflections: |

Nicely done, looks great!
You might like Optimum Opti Seal and Optimum Spray Car Wax...I love the stuff and it is so easy to apply I can do my whole car in 10 minutes and I think the results are fantastic.

Boy I'd love to have mine looking like that again............its so beat up by track miles these days.
Great job!! Fly over and do mine Air conditioned garage and lift for a pleasurable work environment. Also could stock fridge with beer and hours of endless internet radio

Do you have a 110v supply for your PC?
That looks really great. I also have a black 993 and have been umming and ahhing, about getting a kit. Do I see in your garage some special lights for this process, and did you use a paint meter etc? Do you have experience doing this on other cars before you did your pride and joy? Cheers Phil (london) |
