I am getting close, though I still have to:
  • Install the fuel rail
  • Install cooling system
  • Rebuild Big Black calipers
  • Rebuild power steering pump
  • Install rebuilt steering shaft
  • Install new control arms
  • Bleed everything
  • Run for a heat cycle and then change oil and filter

No, this is the stock 968 rail. It's a little different from the 951 rail.

I would be happy to! I owe you some help from when you helped with my turbo swap. And I still have your hose clamps.

I should have it back on the road at the end of next weekend.

Meanwhile, I managed to break the reference sensor plug, so I'll need to replace that:

I have the radiator back in, and the fuel, vacuum and coolant lines all reinstalled (I think):

New hardware for the exhaust:

Rebuilt steering shaft:

And the power steering pump hung in place but not fully connected because I ordered the wrong seals for the banjo bolt at the pump:

I resealed and painted the front calipers with some free time I had today. Quite an easy job, though one of the small pistons had a substantial ding in it (I bought these used). Fortunately, I had a good replacement piston on hand, so I swapped it in.

Tomorrow, I'm adding fluids, checking torques and then turning the key.

It's official! I took it for a test drive tonight with some cheap oil to wash out the assembly lube. More power, and the engine is really smooth.

Calipers rebuilt:

Shot of the adapters for future reference:

Installed:

New starter:

Still left to go:

I have to rebuild that power steering pump, put some new oil in and a filter (I left it draining after my test drive) and re-bleed the brakes. The pedal is a little soft.

A short track video from my first weekend on the freshened motor. It definitely has more power, though some of that is the replaced Hall sensor. It performed beautifully.

Usually, in the states, 93 octane or 94 ron is the "Premium Unleaded Fuel". That said, I can go down to Sunoco and get 110 octane fuel for about 40% more cash money, per gallon. Pontiflex is likely in the same boat. ps, football season is coming!
