Cayenne GTS winter tires
This forum doesn't seem to get much activity, but I'll give it a shot...
I recently purchased an 09 Cayenne GTS and came to the realization that I'll need some winter tires to have any chance of getting around in the snow. Though not the most aesthetically appealing, 18" seem to be the best solution financially, and to handle the potholes that are sure to develop. However, will any 18" fit over the large brakes? If not, are there any in particular that can be confirmed as working? I prefer OEM, but would consider others as well. I'm assuming that all Cayenne wheels going back to 03 use the same bolt pattern and offset, so they should be fair game as long as they clear the calipers. In addition, tire recommendations would be welcomed as well. The Pirelli Scorpions seem to be a favorite, but there are plenty of others in 18" Moving up to 19" makes things a little more difficult. Thanks. - Dave |

Do the GTS models have different brakes than say, the TT model?

I think that 18s will fit, but I'd confirm that with your dealer.
The Pirelli Scorpions are nice, and there is also a new Blizzak option available for SUVs that you might consider. |

I'm not sure if the Turbo and GTS use the same brakes. The GTS has what I would call big reds. I don't know if they're the same as the 911 classics, but they're very similar in size and color.
I think I'm going to go with Scorpions. I had Blizzaks on another vehicle and wasn't thrilled with them. - Dave |

GTS, S, and Turbo all have the same brakes. They are just red on the GTS and Turbo. 18" will fit. I run factory turbo 18" for winter and 22" for summer on my turbo.
The "Turbo S" is the only one with brakes big enough to not fit under 18" You need at least 19" for those. 17" will fit on a "Cayenne" (V6). |
