Thats ok , I saw it in color this morning ! I went for a drive with the PCA this morning , there is a BIG differance in power . Stock the power came on at 4000 rpm , now the power comes on just over 3000 rpm and pulls harder and harder is the rpms increase , there is no flating out of power as you near redline . Kind of like the warp drive effect . Made the other cars smaller and smaller in the mirror . But it too loud , got to fix that . The dyno is next on the list . Any guesses ?

The difference between a factory standard S4 camshaft profile (right) and a camshaft designed to increase engine power output and rpm (left). Adjustable chain sprocket makes it possible to change cam timing and overlap.

Are those both S4 cams?

Oh yes, the hardwelded cams are ground by WEB-Cam. They have many profiles both mechanical, hydraulic, mild to wild that can be used for the making of Porsche 928 performance cams. Below a couple of examples.

Would love to experiment with camshafts that have some valve overlap like you have shown here Ake

John, do remember when installing hot cams with much overlap you actually need ITBs for the best results. If the stock intake manifold is retained you will lose a significant amount of power and the engine will not run well at lower rpm under low load, the engine will pull unevenly, a pain in the ass in bumper to bumper traffic. ITBs will make the engine much smoother. Speak to Greg.

Have you seen John Gill’s ITB results? Picked up 100+ hp by dropping the S4 intake.
An otherwise sensibly tuned 928 GT 5.0 engine (11.5 compression, S3 pistons, ’87 S4 conrods, E85, Colt stage 2 cams with a too wide LSA of 114, headers, race exhaust) picked up 100+ hp in the 6000-7000 rpm range by swapping the S4 intake to 48mm AT Power individual throttle bodies with trumpets. Only intake manifold and air pickup changed. And the gap will widen if he spins it to 7500 rpm.
