Aryan,

The addition power from the GT+ cams depends on a lot of things. Are you going to tune the car with a sharktuner? Standalone EFI? Stock cams (S4/GT/GTS)?

On the GT that I installed them on, I would estimate that we picked up between 25-35RWHP. But I am afraid I didnt get a before dyno to know exactly what the gains would be. I would have loved to though!
The one thins is that on an S4 or GTS it will really wake them up as the S4 tends to fall flat on its face in the upper RPM.

What's the word on compatibility with 16-valve 944? Would it work in a 968?

I havent heard back from Erik.

However if the lobes are in the same orientation then I can do the 16V as well. However it will NOT work on the 968. The reason is that they have smaller cam gears to allow the actuator to work.

If we do the 16V cams for the 16V 944s then I would require a $600 deposit for that set of cams. They wont be $1600 for them, probably closer to the $1k-$1200 range.

If casting is done so that there is enough material all a round the lobe area then both 32V 928 and 16V 944 cams can be made from same casting. If lobe shape is determined already in casting time then 944 set cannot be made from same raw casting.

What is max lift casting will allow? Asking just in case if someone wants above 12mm lift like for example 997 GT3 use.

Erkka, the lobes will be shaped to minimize required grinding after.

Max lift will probably be in the .460" range. I saw probably based on how much grinding is required.

Does anyone know the highest lift that can be run before requiring the head to be machined for clearance ?

I was supposed to check it already since IIRR Tuomo at Rennlist asked same question. Automatic GTS engine is under work and its easy to check before bolting it together. I'll try to remember to do it on Tuesday evening.

Where is that done? Or did you mean piston?

This would be the lifter guide, it is already cut to allow the cam to rotate into this area. I know Mike Simard had to do some cutting to get his .500" cams to be able to fit and rotate.

Based on quick check I would say its 11.8mm or very close to it. At least in this one ...4R casting number early '92 GTS head pair. To be little on safe side 11.5-11.6mm might be better quess. Cams used in checking are S3 modified to fit into '87+ heads.

The .460" are 11.6 which is the highest I will be going with the lift.
