![]() Since there was only about 14,000 of these made from 79 to 82, what would be a good estimate of the number remaining on the road?

![]() I have no idea but I've only seen about 6 in my lifetime. Of course Porsches are not common place where I live. 924s were not galvanized so unless they're sheltered from the elements they are rusting away quickly.
I'd love to have one to tinker with. Although I doubt my wife will let me purchase another car.

![]() Steve,
924's from 1980 on were fully galvanized. Earlier models were partially galvanized. If you find a rusty one, it is probably due to poor bodywork removing galvanized areas. I'd like to have one too! |

![]() Dad had one from 1984-1987 and wish I knew where it was now, that was a fun car.

![]() I believe John D. said he had a 931 and it was the most fun car he ever owned.

![]() I have a good buddy from track days here that rocks one. Two tone grey with black and white Pasha interior.... she goes by the name of Shaggy
![]() It's got a few mild upgrades and is faster than my stripped race 944. But it does have a turbo so... It gets a relatively regular run on the track when he is not instructing...

![]() I owned an '80 "S" model with the M471 suspension option (944 brakes, 5-lug hubs, 16" flat wheels) from 1987 to 1996. Fun car.

![]() Just got rid of mine and replaced it with a 951...which is leagues above the 931. Was a fun car none the less.

![]() I looked at a fixer upper in the area a couple of years and decided against. I have no doubt it would make a fun track car but the parts are still expensive and I don't think the entry cost justifies the repair/replace cost...soon, you'd be crossing through 951 cost territory which a much better platform.

![]() I have a soft spot for the 931 but, truth be told, much of that is because I simply love the body work. As such, it would make more sense for me to buy a 924S and install the 931 nose panel and hood (after chasing them down).
Also, why do spammers always dig up threads that are years old? BB.
