I got a new toy today
94 968 6sp coupe. In pretty rough shape. Needs rad, cooling stuff, fuel pump, trim bits, paint, etc. Should be on the road in a few weeks. Does anyone know the paint code? It's not in the door. I'm beginning to think it's cobalt, but seems to light for that.

Looks like fun!
IIRC, the paint code on the 944 is in the rear hatch behind the carpeting at the back of the trunk. Maybe the 968 has it in the same spot? BB.

Yup, found it. It's a 92 not a 94. I also found a whole pile of documentation, including the sales brochure and the window sticker.

Got it appraised today. Should come in about $3700. Engine pics after some foamy engine bright and a high pressure wash.
It is Cobalt blue, and I have the window sticker in hand. Once I get it running, I'll definitely repaint it. I love this color. The seller was more of an ass than I thought. There were dozens of Camel hard packs crushed and tossed in the back right footwell.

Looks like a nice car! Did you remove the air filter, belt covers, etc or were they already out? Also, what are those chains attached to in the last photo?

cant wait to see this things run. I had a chance to drive one to Road Atlanta and it was a great ride even though the car was very abused and needed alot of work. Spent 6 hours with Josh B helping him replace a broken valve spring and doing to belts before we could get it to drive.

When I got it, the rad, fans, top cover, and air cleaner box were off. I got the air cleaner box, and the top front cover with the car but not the rad or fans. I just bought the rad and fans online and they will be here next week. The chain underneath is just laying on the trailer. It was attached to the lower control arms when I towed.
The int is actually ok, there's some pulled carpet that needs gluing and lots of crud but it's complete, and with the exception of the pax side lock button all stock. I washed it a couple times and cleaned most of the int now. There's a PS leak that I think is coming from one of the hoses, cause it's dirty right at the bottom of the reservoir tank. I'll have to look into that soon.

Id love to see the window sticker for this bad boy to add to my growing catalog. I dont think I have a single 968?? Awesome project. These cars are real steals.

Here ya go. I got a lot done on Sat. The belt covers are on, the cap and rotor replaced, cleaned inj and new seals, new plugs installed, cleaned part of the underside, and removed the fuel pump. My rad and fan should arrive tomorrow, and Roger has some bits for me to finish it this week. It's at his place on the lift now, and should come home under its own power later this week I hope. Don't know about the cooling system, I only hope leaving it dry for years will not affect the gasket condition.
