Default New wheels!

OK, I decided not to paint them black, but I finally got the new wheels on the car. Fergus, you might recognize them.

They look good Jake. I used to have the same wheels on my 996.

Those are wheels that look great on the widest number of Porsche models.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about them at first but they've really grown on me. Clean and simple without taking away from the lines of the car while weighing less at the same time. Perfect!

I think they look very sharp. I've always liked that wheel.

I think that's the first time I've seen your car Jake. I didn't even know what color it is.

The 5 spokes look good, less unsprung weight.

I hate to say it but the car just doesn't excite me as much as it once did. I'm not surprised--this happens to me all the time.

Thanks--I saved over 8 lbs on each of the rears and over 4 lbs on each of the fronts.

Jake, what do you attribute that to? Does the performance no longer excite you, looks, or have you become enchanted with another model?

I think it's because my C4 is a good "jack of all trades, master of none". I often long for something that's significantly faster (Turbo?) or something that's a little more hardcore and handles better (Exige?). Seems like all I do is truck the family around in it any more. The picture in the OP was at my kid's soccer practice.

It's funny, because people look at the car and say "Oh, wow, you have a Porsche? How fast does it go?" and I just see the Family Truckster any more.

I'll bet owning two Porsches isn't quite as exciting as it once was for you...

Honestly, I still catch myself turning around to look after I park. Frankly it's hard to believe that I purchased the Boxster ten years ago but I do love both cars and I'm honestly not tired of either. They are both like dear friends that I enjoy spending time with.

I'm sure I'll eventually purchase another Porsche, but for now I'm very happy with these two.
