New winter wheels and tires mounted...
I just got the new winter tires and wheels onto the 996 yesterday. I'm quite pleased with the way it came out. Let it snow!

I assume those are knockoff rims, Dennis? Did you order them with the tires? Online?
Sorry, just trying to get something figured out for my C4. Oh, and they look great!

Thanks Jake. They are Sport Techno replicas. I ordered them with Blizzak LM-25s mounted and balanced from www.wheelenhancement.com. The wheels are the exact dimensions recommended by Porsche for winter wheels.

Those are nice Dennis... I am going to have to take the plunge and get some for my 996 when it arrives... but I don't want to break the bank

New winter wheels and tires mounted
Please remember when your overclocking your memory you also overclocking you board and cpu also. Some boards do allow for memory upclocks but for most the memory running in sync with the cpu clock is the fastest and most popular method of overclocking.
Some points to remember. 1 Please ensure your cpu is running totally stable at the FSB you have chosen...If the cpu is unstable how will we know if your memory is stable also? 2 Choose your motherboard wisely. Some boards overclock much better than others. 3 Try to match the ram to your cpu and the overclock you feel it will do. Running PC4200 will NOT ensure your 3GHZ P4 will run at 267fsb. You need to ensure you know the average clocks the cpus are doing and match the ram to them. 4 Please ensure you are using a good quality PSU. Many faults are actually PSU related..IE the PSU is not large enough for what your trying to do with it. 5 Many new video cards put a huge drain on PSUs also. Ensure the Video card is connected properly to the PSU. ____________________________________ I made a movie for Payday Loans Canada |

Had a good run with the Blizzaks. Replaced them this year with Pirelli Winter Snow Sport 240 N3 tires. So far, I like the Pirellis better. Much better on dry pavement.

Dennis,
What size wheels and tires did you put on? I dealt with Tire Rack and their recommendation was 265 rears which I don't see Blizzak making in the LM-25. Wheels are 18 inch with an 8J(front) and 10J(rear) |

265 would be the recommended size for a 10" rear wheel. That's what I'm running...Hankook Icebear (probably not available any more).

Used to run Blizzaks on my 97 M3. Great on ice in MN but really squirmy on dry pavement. Kinda scary actually.

I'm running 18x10 rears, per Porsche recommendations. My rear tires are 265 width. I put 17mm Porsche spacers on the rear wheels to prevent the "sunken in" look on my C4S.
FWIW, the tires I just replaced were Blizzak LM-25s in a 265 width for the rear. |
