    Hi John,

    Hope you are well!!!

I have a granddaughter with Rett Syndrome and have been following a Pepsi charity giveaway program for several months. Pepsi, I believe, passed on massive Super Bowl ads and instead set aside some large bucks for charity. They have a month-by-month giveaway to charity, based on votes, the highest vote-getters in each of 4 categories ($250K, $50K, $25K, and $5K) each month get that amount. The International Rett Syndrome Foundation has been in the $250K category for several months, and it looks like we can make it in August!

I have been following this closely and, of course, voting for IRSF daily, and have developed a lot of understanding of this program.

The "charities" involved are, mostly, not all that big. It's just a popularity contest and, of course, the popularity contest is, mostly, controlled by who can round up the most votes. I doubt that there are many people following this unless they have some connection to a charity that has asked them to vote. It's like the who's the hottest bikini girl contest - the winner usually has the most "friends' they asked to vote!

I am supporting the hell out of IRSF to help find the cure for my granddaughter. I am lining up to enter a foster child care group (www.childshare.org) next month (I was on their board for many years).

There is money here for the taking!!!! I think rennwish should enter the contest. (The top 2 in 250K get funding, but the top 10 in each of the $50K, $25K and $5K groups get funding each month.)

It's all just simply a matter of votes. The groups are not that large. My group (IRSF) is not that big - it's a very rare disorder. Look at the $250K category this month, the second is some kind of Horror Film group!)

Using the power of RL and RW, rennwish ought to be able to move in and get some easy pickings!

    Rennwish should enter the contest!!!!

Just from observing participating for IRSF, and planning for Child Share, I have a tremendous insight into all this. If you want to put rennwish in the contest, we should talk.

Meanwhile, of course go vote for IRSF every day for the rest of the month! http://www.refresheverything.com/rettresearchtoreality

The concept really started during a trip to Haiti in 2008 and the challenge was form a "virtual community" to benefit "real communities". During that trip to Haiti, I was privileged to be joined by a man who posts here on the Forum as "Patrick" to look at what we were doing with two programs within Project Rennwish (our partnership with Pwoje Espwa and the completion of another school) - so we had several opportunities to discuss the site objectives. In short, we...

Hi all..

I guess I'm just going to write this post/thread as a "train of jumbled thoughts", since - every time I return from a trip like this, I find the words difficult to come by? So - maybe it's better, rather than attempting to do all in one post/thread, I'll try to do one "event" at a time?

For that - there are bunches of pics for this threadâ?¦ And, in the next few days, Pat and I will try to post others - similar, but yet different from...
