Vehicle Name The Velvet Hammer
Year 1990
Make Porsche
Model 928GT
Color Velvet Red Metallic (81L)
History Serial #238 - Nicknamed "The Velvet Hammer", this unique GT is one of only twelve known Velvet Red Metallic 928s in North America. This special order color was available only in 1989-1990, and of the twelve North American cars only five are GTs (two '89s and three '90s). Research also indicates a strong possibility this 928 was the Carlsen Porsche dealer principal's car for 3 years prior to being sold to the public. I appear to be the 3rd owner after this possible dealer use. Documentation includes full books with dealer stamps going back to delivery along with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Factory options include rear insignia delete and the rare omission of option code 418 - protective side moldings.
Vehicle #2 Information - OR - Vehicle #1 Engine and Modifications 5.0 liter 32 valve V8
Dyno'd very strong at 310rwhp 325ft/lb torque in essentially stock configuration (only mod was a RMB, have since added a X-pipe and put the GT muffler back on)
Maintenance in recent years includes: full intake/cam cover refresh with new Bosch 24# Type III injectors, knock sensors, Hall sender, fuel lines, distributor caps/rotors, plugs, t-belt/H2O pump, Volvo hydraulic motor mounts, silicone oil pan gasket, Motorsport SLC X-pipe, programmable PEMs with Sharktuning, cross-drilled brake rotors and Hawk ceramic pads.

As mentioned previously, I have the dealer stamped books going back to delivery.

Here's a link to a YouTube clip of the dyno run before the exhaust work and custom tuning:

Exterior/Interior Photos show the original "Comfort" seats, 12-way power on drivers side and 8-way power on the passenger side. I have since installed a pair of 4-way power factory "Sport" seats. Not pictured is an updated GTS shift knob.

Stereo and/or Electronics Stock Blaupunkt Reno II

Suspension and/or Other Modifications Photos show the original Boge greys with stock springs
Currently running Bilstein shocks with the stock springs
Note - the front springs are three brown dot, the rears are three blue dot - both pairs I believe are the firmest of the three factory tolerance groups

Wheels and Tires The factory OE D90s with Bridgestone Potenza RE750s have been retained.
Currently featuring factory OE Cup II 17x9 ET 70 in front and Mille Miglia Cup II replicas in 18x10 ET 47 on the rear. Tire and sizes are Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 255/40/ZR17 on the front and Michelin Pilot Super Sport 285/35/ZR18 on the rear.
